22 Topic: "Recycling Energy"
With
this being Earth Day, I got to thinking of a phrase that's often used: "Reduce,
Reuse, Recycle".
We know the ways those words can be used in a physical
sense, but we might take the time to use them in a different way
today.
Reduce
Can you think of anything you'd like to
reduce? Perhaps envy, or fear or low self-esteem?
Reuse
We
sometimes think that when we feel really good, it's only temporary and we
shouldn't expect to feel good all the time. However, choosing to feel good on a
regular basis doesn't just help us; it helps everyone in whom we come into
contact. Think of a few great feelings you'd like to re-use. They don't
expire.
Recycle
This is the one I'm going to focus on the
most this week. The idea of taking old, negative, stale energy and transforming
it (recycling it) into fresh, loving, powerfully peaceful energy.
If
you've never tried the Buddhist practice of Tonglen meditation, you might enjoy
experimenting with it a bit today. A short explanation of this practice is in
the exercise section below. For more detailed information, search for Tonglen on
the Internet as well.
Reduce, Re-use and Recycle in a whole new way

- As you breathe in, feel it going to the powerful healing place deep within
you
- Take a moment to visualize a large, spacious area, like the sky or the
sea.
- Feel the energy dissipating and transforming within this vast universal
energy and reycling into powerful peace and love
- Breathe out this renewed, recycled energy, sharing it with the world
- Repeat with any negative thoughts or feelings that come
up

Quotes
QUOTES:"Basically we are all the same
human beings with the same potential to be a good human being or a bad human
being ... The important thing is to realize the positive side and try to
increase that; realize the negative side and try to reduce. That's the way.”

energy and keep you from love.” "A leader has the vision and conviction
that a dream can be achieved. He inspires the power and energy to get it

happy. The pursuit of happiness is a great activity. One must be open and alive.
